Does it use Single Pass encoding or MultiPass?
And what rates are used in this preset? Can it be described like here:

Based on the time used, I'd say it uses singlepass - but I agree with you, it would be nice to get an updated table like the one you are refering to.

ViddyUp!'s iPod, 640x480, H.264 setting is singlepass. To be honest, we're not getting consistently iPod-compatible results when we attempt multipass at 640x480. Until that's resolved we won't be able to release an official iPod, 640x480, H.264 MultiPass preset.

Here's an updated list of settings for each preset:

iPod, MPEG-4, 320x240:

Good: 768Kbps
Better: 1Mbps
Best: 1.25Mbps

iPod, MPEG-4, 640x480:

Good: 1Mbps
Better: 1.5Mbps
Best: 2Mbps

iPod, H.264, 320x240, Singlepass and MultiPass:

Good: 320Kbps
Better: 480Kbps
Best: 600Kbps

iPod, H.264, 640x480:

Good: 768Kbps
Better: 1Mbps
Best: 1400Kbps

Podcast, H.264, 320x240, Singlepass and MultiPass:

Good: 160Kbps
Better: 196Kbps
Best: 256Kbps

ViddyUp! specifies 16-bit, stereo, 44.1KHz AAC at 128Kbps for all iPod Encoding presets. It specifies the following for the Podcast presets:

Good: 16-bit, mono, 44.1KHz AAC at 64Kbps
Better: 16-bit, mono, 44.1KHz AAC at 96Kbps
Best: 16-bit, stereo, 44.1KHz AAC at 128Kbps
