hi:

1. i've been using this application for a long time and never have had any problems with it.

2. i recently got an ipodtouch (used to have the classic) and noticed that whenever i hook up the ipod touch to my cpu, the audiobook that i was listening to will revert back to the very beginning (which of course is a pain in the butt).

3. i tried the following to help clarify the situation (which it hasn't): i thought that it was an issue of syncing, but i always have the settings within itunes to turn off syncing in re: music etc... nonetheless, i'm wondering if there is some type of syncing going on because this is the only time this problem occurs.

4. i completely have replicated this but i think when i completely turn off the ipodtouch and then hook it up to the cpu, that the audiobook doesn't revert to the beginning.

5. as long as i don't hook up the ipod touch to the cpu, the ipodtouch will remember where i last stopped the audiobook etc...

any help with the above would be hugely appreciated because as of this time, i always have to remember to take a peek at my audiobook time prior to hooking up to cpu etc... etc... thanks. harry

It may be that iTunes thinks that the listening time of that particular book is newer on your computer than it is on your iPod. a good test would be to listen to the book partially on your computer and take note of the time in the book that you stopped listening. Sync your iPod and see if the time you left off on the book on your computer is now synced to your iPod and starts where you left off.

If it resets regardless of what you do, you may want to try restoring your iPod to factory defaults through iTunes, and resync your media to it.

I'm having the exact same annoying problem and have very happily been using ABB for a long time with no such problems before. It only began recently. I tested as noted and found that if I play an audiobook on my macbook pro the position is saved and updated on my ipod touch. However when I play an audiobook on the ipod and sync with itunes the position on the ipod reverts to the last position from the mackbook. Needless to say this renders ABB useless and I hope you can provide a solution before I jump ship out of sheer frustration.
