In the new version of Audiobook builder the seconds part of the file is reported incorrectly in itunes

I usually do the build in normal settings but as this was a graphic audio stereo production it was done in high

Done from stereo mp3s Audiobook builder reports a length of 15 hours 2 minuets

Itunes reports the output of part 1 as 7:31:10.

and part 2 as 14:10:25

That sounds like Audiobook Builder mis-built the Project somehow. Would you be able to send us the Project without making any changes to it through an iChat file transfer? We auto-accept file transfers at screen name "splasmsoftware", without the quotes. If we can test the Project here we can provide a much better explanation of what's happening there. Thanks!

I have the same problem on some of my projects. I sent (it is transfering now) a project that Audiobook Builder reports as being 8 hrs 17 min 40 sec, but in iTunes the time is 7 hrs 38 min 55 sec. I have another project that Audiobook Builder reports as 11 hrs 48 min 20 sec and iTunes reports as being 22 hrs 51 min 26 sec. I have not listened to either of the files in entirety (only spot checked them).

Thanks.

parrjr, we received the file but Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.6, and Stuffit Expander, are all saying there's a problem with it so it can't be decompressed. It may have been corrupted on its way here but it could also be an issue with the original archive there. Can you recreate the archive and send again? Thank you!

I just re-built the 1st book I was having issues with. The file Audiobook Builder built was apparently missing parts of chapter 16 and chapter 17. No matter how many times I built it it was the same.

I then built it setting the Part Style to "per chapter". All the individual parts (chapters had the right length. I then created a new project with the new chapter files and combined them into one part (book). The final file has the right length and appears to be correct. I will test this on my other trouble files.

Jim, we've got your Project building properly here now. Check your email for a link to the latest pre-release build.

bex, I think we've got two different issues here because the fix for Jim's Project would only work for situations where the final build ends up shorter than Audiobook Builder says. Your tests seem to end up significantly longer than Audiobook Builder says. We're receiving fine from Jim - can you try to send again? If it doesn't work maybe we can get a transfer going in the morning (in our time zone) to one of our other accounts. Thanks for your patience & help!

Keith,

I also had a project which Audiobook Builder would indicate was 11 hrs 48 min 20 sec but would appear to be 22 hrs 51 min 26 sec in iTunes. I re-built it with the new application you sent and it built fine.

Ah, I see now how the two issues could be one and the same. Thanks for making me look a little harder, Jim!

bex, we'll send an email with a download link for the latest pre-release build to your personal email address.

I am in the same position as I have just built my first audiobook this year with version 1.1.3 and find that it is 10:15:33 in lenght but iTunes reports it to be 20:16:28. I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.2.

Many thanks for a great program

Jim

Hello,

I have been using ABB for years and was always satisfied.

I thought that I made a mistake when I noticed that all of my audio books had nearly the length doubled when I played them in iTunes.

I am glad that I found the answer in this forum and looking forward for an update in the near future.

Kind regards

Thomas

We just released Audiobook Builder 1.1.4 which should address the issue with incorrect lengths in iTunes. If you rebuild your Projects with 1.1.4 and the issue remains please let us know and we'll get right on it!

Download Audiobook Builder 1.1.4: http://www.splasm.com/audiobookbuilder/downloads.html
