Hi!

I just tried to work a bit with ABB. I don't had any problems so far. It's an excellent program.
However, I have some questions in the 'Build Options' window.
1. Pass trough is always checked but grayed out. Does that mean pass through is activated?
2. Can someone explain the different 'Part Style' options. I only have the german version and I can't see any difference between some 'Part Style-Options'

Best Regards
Felix

Felix,

If Pass Through is gray, it means that it is not possible to pass through the files in your project. The files need to be AAC format, and they all need to be the same bitrate for pass through to work. Ill try and describe part styles a bit.

Break Between Files: Audiobook Builder will split parts between files you added. This could allow for a chapter being split between parts.

Break Between Chapters: Audiobook Builder will only split parts between chapter breaks so you will not have broken chapters over parts. The drawback is your parts will be more uneven in length.

Equal length: This will give you part times which are very close to each other. The drawback with this method is that Audiobook Builder will split audio wherever it needs to in order to get lengths to be the same. This means words and sentences can be split between parts.

Per Chapter: This last option is to create a part file for every chapter. For example, a 15 chapter Audiobook would end up with 15 parts, one per chapter.

Each method has its positives and negatives, and their use depends on your situation.

Thanks for the answer.

The 'Pass Through' thing is a little odd.
I imported every CD with ABB and settings on best. And I want to build the audiobook with settings on best. It's both 128Kbps, Stereo, 44.1 kHz. But 'Pass Through' is checked and grayed out.

I looks the same as on this screenshot:
