Has anyone tried ABB with the new iTunes? I'm afraid to download it unless I know one of my favorite apps (Audiobook Builder) still works.

Thanks
- John

Well, ABB doesnt do much with iTunes.. unless you use iTunes to get your tracks into ABB... but I doubt that would be a problem.
otherwise ABB merely imports the resulting Audiobook in iTunes (if you have it setup that way).

And as for wether iTunes will recognize the books as Audiobooks, i susspect it will, if not; in the new iTunes you can actually choose to define any (if im not mistaken) track to be an Audiobook, and they will be placed in the proper Audiobook library..

so i suppose it is safe to update. I havn't udpated yet either ;)

Thanks. I guess I just assumed that ABB worked with closely with iTunes. I'll install the new iTunes as soon as I know that some of the AppleScripts I use won't crash.

It doesn't work properly with iTunes 8 automatically. I just did a book and it places it under music. So I selected all tracks and info and chose Audiobooks as the Genre then under the Media tab changed it from Music to Audiobooks and bingo it works. Hopefully there will be an update for ABB soon to do it for you.

Seems to be working fine for me. I used it last night to rip a book into iTunes and it does show up in Audiobooks. Open the file in Finder and check to be sure it has an M4B extension. Until it is working properly for you, you can try the "Make Audiobook" script at Doug's Apple Scripts web-site. (Google it) In addition to changing the file name, it will temporarily send it to Trash then reimport it to iTunes. This seems to make sure it ends up in Audiobooks. Note, I don't need to do that. ABB is working fine for me.

Hmmm. It was working fine till I upgraded to 8. The file has an mov extension but is only audio. Wonder why it does that now? Any ideas? Oh Poop :) I realise now what I didn't do..Duh! On the Finish screen I forgot to tell it to build an audiobook. What a Dumbo. Just incase anyone else forgot that stage.
