I just updated my 5.5g iPod to 1.3. So far, I've played ABB made books that used to loose their place & they seem to be working correctly now.

I've played a few minutes of a book, switched to music & played a few tracks on shuffle, went back to the same book & it kept it's place. A reboot after playing a track worked too. I've even played a few different ABB made books and they all seem to be keeping their places.

Has anyone else tried it yet? Did it work for you?

I tried upgrading to 1.3, but I had the same problem I had with 1.2.3: it turned my iPod into a paperweight. After the upgrade, the iPod would randomly reset whenever I tried to play anything, audiobook or otherwise. I haven't been able to find complaints online from anyone else about this problem, so I have to assume there's a problem with my iPod; on the other hand, except for the bookmark bug, it works fine with 1.2.1. So I downgraded again to that version and will carry on with a shorter part max in ABB.

Actually, I read some horror stories on Apple's site about people upgrading to 1.3. Mine went without a hitch and so far, so good.

Have you tried doing a complete restore, instead of just the upgrade?

Yes -- upgrade and full restore give the same results. Fortunately, as I said, it works just fine with 1.2.1 (except for the bookmark bug, which was my main reason for trying the update). Bad karma, I guess.
