I purchased Griddle today because I wanted to make a grid. It sure does that just fine, but it took some manipulation to turn the grid into the chart I wanted. For the benefit of other new users who may come after me:

I opened the app and set the grid to the exact number of squares I wanted. I saved it to the desktop, and then opened it in Photoshop. I sized the image somewhat smaller than the paper I wanted to print on, then sized the canvas to the exact size of the paper. I then used the text tool to put numbers down the left-hand side of the chart, outside the grid, starting at the top and working down. Because the line spaces did not exactly correspond to the lines on the chart where I wanted the numbers, I found it easier to make each number a separate layer, so each number could be manipulated separately into the position where I wanted it. I then increased the resolution, saved as a JPEG, and printed. Piece of cake.

I will probably use this app in the future, in conjunction with Photoshop, to make grid patterns for beadwork.
