This is a stylistic more than a functionary suggestion.

Most if not quite a few folks outside of the US spell the word "Check" (US spelling of a promissory note) like this "Cheque" (Canadian/UK spelling). Now I am not suggesting the name of the program be changed, but it would be nice if the debit description "check" could be replaced by the word "cheque". I would suggest this would be handled in the Preferences.

BTW the reason I find the word "check" a bit disconcerting is because the word "check" means (for me) to verify a truth (such as in "Did you check to see if the milk was still good?"). Also, when if do my banking (in Canada), the bank's web page always uses the word "Cheque".

It has been nearly a year I have been using the program and it has been a very good tool for tracking and predicting by my cashflow and budgeting.

Thanks for the good work

Paul

As a Brit I would also appreciate this option. I didn't realise that Canada used the British English spelling!

We're happy to consider including an option for changing "check" to "cheque" in the few places it appears outside of the word "CheckBook". But, it may prove best to do it automatically based on the region setting for a user's Mac. Anyway, the idea is definitely something we'll add to our feature request list.
