Clearly, every time CheckBook Pro is closed, all changes seem to be updated and stored.
Where (at the end of what path) is/are the files(s) which are updated every time?
Thanks

It's in your USER file library>Application support

Jut do a spotlight search for accounts.plist and it'll show up

Hmm. For security, I'd like to keep the data file in a sparsebundle disk image, and have it encrypted and only available when I (password) open the disk image with all my financial info stored there.

What will happen if I copy the file to the sparsebundle, and open the program by clicking on that file? Will saves be made to the copied file?

hmm. Just tried it. The modified account was saved to the original file.

Is there a way to do it my way, or do I need to make this a suggestion / request?

Right now CheckBook is hard-coded to look for its data file at ~/Library/Application Support/CheckBook 2/Accounts.plist. We're evaluating adding a feature so the user can specify an alternate location but if you've got the nerve you can try setting up a symbolic link at the hard-coded location, pointing to the actual data file in your disk image. There's a discussion on how to do this at viewtopic.php?f=3&t=468&p=1473&hilit=symbolic+link#p1473 .
