One or more times I must have typed the word Transer instead of Transfer and, despite having found and deleted the relevant transactions, each and evry damn time I start to type the word Transfer it brings up the auto-fill suggestion of Transer. It's really bloody annoying and for the life of me I can't figure where it's pulling the auto fill suggestion from given that as far as the app is concerned that type doesn't appear on the system. On a single time basis it's not that important but over the thousands of times this has happened it REALLY bugs me!! Any ideas how I can stop the app from offering this auto fill. I even thought of doing a back up and starting afresh from this April with all previous records deleted.

It's quite easy to delete any misspelled item that made its way onto your Types list by going up to click the Account menu at the top of the screen, selecting the Edit Account menu option, clicking "Types" up top, selecting the item in the list, and then hitting the Remove button that's marked with the slashed-circle icon.

Thanks but it's not a Type. It's a actually an auto-fill option that appears when I type in the Category field.

In that case, editing your Categories list would be the way to go. That's equally as easy as editing the Types list. If you're using CheckBook Pro, go up to click the Account menu at the top of the screen and select the Edit All Accounts menu option, to get started. Or, in CheckBook, go up to click the CheckBook menu, select the Preferences menu option, and hit the Categories button.
