I have tried several times to schedule a transaction that starts Dec. 16, 2022 and repeats every two years. CheckBook Pro 2 keeps making the starting date today's day in the year 2024.

Is this a known bug?
Is there a known workaround?

That's not a known bug, nor is it something we can get to happen here. Considering this, you may want to visit our site at http://www.splasm.com/checkbookpro/update.html and follow the appropriate directions below where it says "Get the Update", so we're sure you have the latest version installed.

If updating has no impact, you may want to check the Date Format settings on your Mac. Start by going to the Apple menu at the top of the screen and selecting the System Preferences menu option. Then, click Language & Region button, look for a button labeled “Advanced” in the bottom right corner of the window and click there. In the field labeled “Short”, you may find “4/19/2024” got entered, which makes for a hard-coded date. In that event, you'll want to drag the appropriate Date Elements from the bottom of the window into the field, replacing the hard-coded version.

Thank you for the suggestions. Unfortunately, my version of CheckBook Pro 2 is the most recent, and the short date is not 4/19/2024.

CheckBook Pro 2.6.17 is the latest available version, but older versions may state that you're up-to-date already, so we'd like to double-check the version that's installed. Can you go up to click the CheckBook Pro menu and select "About CheckBook Pro", just so we're sure version 2.6.17 shows as the version number?

About CheckBook Pro also says version 2.6.17 (with "(636)" next to it).

Thanks for confirming the version you have. Now, can you tell us if you're able to click over “2024” to see it become selected? If so, it’d usually be possible to then type the preferred year over that incorrect year. But, if not, we’d be curious to know: Does it work at all to click the calendar button to the right of the Date field and choose a different date from the calendar popup?

Supposing you continue to struggle with this issue, it may prove helpful for us to get a screenshot of what you see there. To take a screenshot, hold down the Shift and Command keys with one hand while hitting the number 3 key with the other hand. You’ll hear a camera shutter and an image file will save to the Desktop. Attach that image file to an email to us at support@splasm.com and we’ll have a look.

I had removed the scheduled transaction, so I had to recreate it—and this time it had the correct start date. I might have done something slightly different this time. I am a very new CheckBook Pro 2 user. Thank you for replying to my posts.
