How can I set 1 of many split entries as Taxable? I can only set the top level and I need to be able to set individual line items as Taxable

Unfortunately, CheckBook isn’t capable of treating an individual split line as Taxable, while other splits need to be considered Tax-deductible. The idea to include that sort of feature has come up before so that’s something that we’re considering for inclusion in a future version.

One option we usually recommend for dealing with Taxable versus Tax-deductible splits in the existing version is the use of Categories that include tax-related information. For example, where you’d usually use “Medical” in the Category field, you could put in “Tax-deductible:Medical” and then you’d be able to filter for “Tax-Deductible” later when you need to see just Tax-deductible items.
