In many apps, the print dialog offers a way to scale the document being printed so something that will print on 2 pages at 100% can be reduced to some percentage that will print on 1 page. The only thing I've found in Checkbook Pro is the ability to "scale to fit to paper size," but that just scales each page to the selected paper size, it doesn't scale everything to reduce the number of pages. Is there a way to reduce the size of the summary to fit on fewer pages? The preferences has a way to change the size of the entry font, but that has no effect on the size of the font in the summary.

Checkbook Pro 2.6.13 (573)
Mac OSX 10.15.3 Catalina

Try using the Pages Per Sheet option, in the Layout section. Basically, if you click the menu button labeled "Pages Per Sheet", you'll be able to select something like 2 to have two pages printed per sheet, for example. Supposing you don't see this option, you may need to hit Show Details, first thing.

Thanks Allan. That's what I ended up doing, but that just gives me 2 vertical pages imposed on a single horizontal piece of paper. What I'm looking for is reducing the size of the report—as is—so it doesn't take up so much space. In most situations, there is a Scale box in a print dialog. If I were to print this page from my browser, it would take up 2 letter size pieces of paper at 100%, but I can scale it to 50% and get it on one page. Can't that be added to the print dialog available in Checkbook Pro?

You can use the Scale option in the Page Setup area, to accomplish the same thing now. Just go up to click the File menu at the top of the screen and select the Page Setup menu option, to get started.

Alright, thanks for pointing that out. Seems a little inconvenient to have that only in the page setup. I'm making several reports, some of which I would reduce to fit one page, but many that will fit one page without being reduced. It would be so much simper to be able to do the scaling from the print dialog, where you can see how what needs to be reduced, rather than going back & forth between the print dialog and the page setup to get it right.

We can certainly look at adding the Page Setup options to the Print window, like you're used to with Safari. That's definitely something we could see making it into a future version, so it's been added to our feature request list.

Thanks. That would be great. I was thinking it's not just in Safari, it's in most applications that I use, but looking at several just now, I see that that's not the case. But the scale option does occur in the print dialog in many, in some form or another. Anyway, thanks for showing me where it is currently available in Checkbook and for being as responsive as you've been.
