Post subject:  auto-commit

I'm considering CheckBook, as I want a check register on the computer. But my account has a number of recurring debits (some payments) and credits (e.g., Social Security) in my checking account: same time each month, same payee or source, same amount credited or deposited. Having to commit these transactions each time they occur, again and again, seems unnecessary and certainly isn't elegant: this is a computer running software, and repeating tasks can be accomplished if programmed.

This subject has appeared before in the Discussions, but apparently has never been implemented.

Most folks with checking accounts have regular transactions, and allowing auto-commit when a recurring transaction is created would be a useful improvement.

Different strokes, I suppose. I like the way scheduled transactions are currently handled, as I like to verify them prior to posting. This helps to remind me that such transaction are pending. But perhaps there could be the option, when creating a scheduled transaction, to auto-commit this way.

Have you posted this in the suggestions section as well?

Thanks, prider. I didn't even think of the other forum. I'll do so.
