Can TeamViewer be used to run CBP remotely from an IOS device? It's free for noncommercial users, and yes, you have to leave your home Mac on, but is this at least a temporary solution to the vaporware Moneybug?

Yes, TeamViewer can be used to remote control your Mac from an iOS device and so CheckBook Pro could certainly be accessed with that. That is indeed a good solution for using any Mac application while on-the-go.

Let us know how it works out!

I set it up and it works, at least from home. Seems pretty straightforward. I wouldn't use it from public WiFi, of course. Perhaps some other users who travel more will also test it.

I do see a problem if there is a power outage and the home computer shuts down; you won't be able to start it remotely. Others say waking from sleep can be a problem, but I haven't tried that yet.

But, the price is right.

If you're visiting someone who only has a PC with TeamViewer installed, you should be able to remote control your Mac from it. That can be a plus.

I still would like to see moneybug one of these decades, before I die. Tell me it hasn't been abandoned.

Note 1: TV must be running on your computer when you depart. It won't start remotely.

That's great news that your tests with TeamViewer went well!

Also, MoneyBug hasn't been abandoned. There's still a good bit of work to do on it before a possible release timeframe can be determined, though.

I couldn't make it reconnect. It seems a bit clunky. Maybe someone has to be at the main machine, I don't know. Anyway, I finally uninstalled it from the iMac and the iPad. Perhaps Moneybug will show up in the not too distant future (sure, haha)

A few years ago I asked if an Android version of MoneyBug would be available as I had no interest in the iPhone. Well ... I now have an iPhone 6

Any news on MoneyBug to put this phone to some good use :?:
