When selecting a font, how does CBP handle multiple versions (normal, italic, multiple weights) of a font? If I have a font with light, normal, bold and italic versions of each weight, which does CBP use?

Since I don't see a way to select a specific version of a font, how can I work around this?

CheckBook Pro tends to opt for the Normal weight, so there's not a way to select an alternate weight (though we could certainly add support for doing so to a future version if there's enough demand for it). Italic is used automatically for Transfers and bold for what's selected, while all other weights are ignored, at this time.

When I select a font with multiple weights, it seems to want to pick a bolder/heavier font... I've noticed this for printed checks, as well...

Different fonts do have different default weights. So, switching around like you're doing until you find one that feels right, weight-wise, is a great idea.
