A warning like that should only appear when the applied Starting Check # matches or perhaps precedes check numbers used in your Account already. Whatever’s set in the field labeled “Starting Check #”, situated down at the bottom of the Print Checks window, will be what’s used to update your check entries, basically, and it’s best to avoid overlap.
The next time you go to print, be sure you enter the number found on the lowest-numbered physical check being loaded into your printer into the Starting Check # field, then you should be set. You may even choose to avoid manually adding check numbers to entries set to be printed, going forward, considering the numbers always get updated automatically, during the print process, like described.
