Where do I edit the "Transfer To Account" list?
I want to delete an item on this list.
Feeling pretty stupid about this now.

Do you mean the list of Accounts you can transfer to? It's automatically compiled from the unlocked Accounts in your document. Locked Accounts won't show up, but that's the only way to kinda sorta temporarily remove an item from the list. Removing an Account entirely would also change things, of course. Would having the ability to semi-permanently prevent an Account from showing up, without locking it, be something folks would use?

Well, I closed a checking account. I still want to keep the history of course, but I don't want to see it when I go to transfer an entry from one account to another.
"Lock Account" is grayed out and I don't want to delete it or have to give it a password.

So yes, I would like to remove it from the list of transferrable accounts.

To keep the closed Account around but not have it in the list, the only answer, for the moment, is to lock the Account. You'll have to give it a password to do that. It'll always be locked by default going forward so there's no more effort unless you need to see the Account's Entries or Account Summaries, when you'd need to unlock the Account to get at its innards.

On our end, rather than thinking through a user interface for customizing the list of Accounts you can transfer to and from, as well as the back end logic for storing and changing how things behave based on that data, I think you've spelled out the use case that makes the most sense - when an Account is closed, users don't need to see it as an option. If CheckBook had a way of knowing an Account was closed, a checkbox in the Account options sheet, perhaps, it would follow the Account would no longer appear as an option to transfer to or from. You'd also want to prevent changes to the Entries in the Account or to most of its Account options, prevent dragging and dropping Entries to and from other Accounts, and to no longer evaluate its Schedules. Add a way to visualize the "closed" status in the Accounts list, maybe a badge on the Account icon, and I think you're in business. All of that would help a lot of folks, I bet, when they close an Account but want to keep it around.

We'll think on it, for sure. Thanks for letting us know you need this!

I named the account CLOSED.

Perhaps a box labeled ARCHIVE, which would prevent changes and eliminate the account in the list.

But a checkbox would work. There may be plenty of accounts that don't need transfers.
Thanks
