One feature I'd like to see is the ability to split an audiobook into different parts, not by time, but manually.

It could be done as a new button in the "Chapters" section, which would tell the program when to start a new part.

In addition to getting around the 2.5 hour problem, I'd also like to do this with audiobooks of short stories, to make each story its own file.

Yea.
it could be implemented the same way that Chapters are.
So that you can group chapters to each be one part.
(and have it display the total time for that part)

and have ABB add something like ', Part #' behind each track name

Please let sequenced CDs the way they are, independent of "how long" they are.
I record for clients, and my recording already splits the files where necessary, I don't like ABB joining and splitting by itself.
If you have 6 CD set and ABB decides to split wherever this is a nightmare ! how do I find the stuff latter on?
Imagine a CD teaching guitar with 124 tracks...
Or a set of 4 , 5, 6 CDs with sequential lessons, modules.

Well I believe I stated my point.

Thanks

This is definitely an inconvenience with Audiobook Builder.

I have seminar CDs that are split into useless 5-minute tracks, but each CD is its own subject. When I bought AB my first instinct was to expect it to split the audiobook into a part for each CD, but sadly that's not the case. It's already well worth the price for the time it saves me, but I can't help but imagine how cool it'd be to be able to set it up to process the tracks from a 10-CD seminar all at once, then let AB create the 10 files in iTunes for me automatically. As it is I instead have to separately import and build each CD's file one at a time.

'Twould be nice! ;)
