I recently imported, from an old CD, an audio book that consisted of 109 separate files. I used ABB to join the files, then tossed the CD. But I've noticed some anomalies, so I'd like to edit a couple of the original files.

But ABB doesn't have an export command!

I was able to select the project and "Show Package Contents," and I see the individual files. But the 109 files are simply listed in alphabetical order — without numerals (001, 002, etc.) at the beginning of the file names, which would put the files in order.

The files on the CD were numbered, and obviously ABB knows the order in which they should appear. But I can't export the files from ABB with numerals, which means I'll have to manually number them by referencing ABB's Chapters page.

I'm surprised that ABB lacks a basic Export Original Files command (that maintains the original numerals — or optionally adds them).

Accessing the original files within the Project file package is, at this time, the best way to deal with any case where some file needs to be edited that's already been added to Audiobook Builder. I'll add your idea to incorporate an Export option to our feature request list, though.

Now, concerning numbering, the track numbers aren't maintained by Audiobook Builder but that's mainly to avoid duplicate number pile-up among the files (with most Audiobook CD set, there's always going to be tracks 1 through 13 or so on every disc in the set, so that yields lots of duplicate numbers). The names you're seeing are what's tagged in the files on the CD and so that's favored. Concerning the alphabetical ordering in the Finder, though, that's just the default sort order there. Try sorting by 'Date Modified' to get everything organized in the order they were imported. To do this, choose 'As List' from the Finder's View menu at the top of the screen and then hit the column header labeled 'Date Modified'.
