Yes, I know that you can run ABB with multiple instances, but it gets confusing and even with 3 running, I spend a lot of time waiting.

What I would like to do:

Do the Cover stuff. Art, author, title.
Drop the files into the files window. The list of files is accepted immediately. No copying happens yet.

On that pane there is a build button. Clicking Build immediately queues the job in the batch processor, and you can start the next book.

A third tab allows you to monitor the build process.

By default there is no abb file for a job. Instead it can be reconstructed from the log of the build process log.

In doing this, I can start 20-30 books and let it chug away all night.

And yes, I would be willing to buy ABB 2.0 to get these features.

Batch processing, just as you're describing, is at the very top of our feature request list for Audiobook Builder and has been for awhile. So, that feature is already slated to be added to version 2, whenever we get to working on that future release. Unfortunately, we can't really throw out an expected release date for version 2 at this time, but keep an eye out for it!
