Post subject:  Creating a complete audiobook from single mp3 file

Hi there,
Just bought your software. Looking good and intuitive and cant wait to create my first audiobook. However it's not clear where to start from if one has only single mp3 file.
It's a 220mb mp3 file. Your program wont let me to split it, or create chapters(as meta data). Maybe I overlooked something? Can I keep one single file, and just add/create chapters and save them into this single file?

Many thanks in advance

A.

Audiobook Builder will bring together different files and use their start and stop points to create chapter markers in the final file. Since you're dealing with an MP3 audiobook that's been encoded as one file, you'd need to use a separate audio editing tool to break the file up into individual pieces.

I had this issue as well, and following the advice here, I went on a search for a free & easy audio splitter.
I found AudioSplitter over at macsome.com. Works like a charm and VERY fast. The breaks can be a bit "abrupt" but I can live with that. Anything is better than trying to deal with a single, ungainly 12 hour mp3 file...
