Hello there.

I'm trying to convert my DJ mix into one aac file that has various chapters for each song in the mix. Whenever I add the separated tracks (I already separated the mix into their respective tracks) it shows up as 33 different chapters, and when I go to the build section it says 1 part and 33 chapters. Unfortunately no matter what combination of features I do it still only shows up as one song in iTunes (i.e. does not show various chapters). I've tried build by chapter, build by file. I've tried switching between music and audiobook formats as well as joining and unjoining the files. It just does not want to create chapters for me.

I was wondering if you could help me understand what I am doing wrong.

Actually after 3 hours I figured it out. Turns out it wasn't anything wrong on AudioBook Builder's end. It was myself who was the problem! I didn't know how to navigate the chapters in iTunes (it only showed the one track, I was expecting a drop-down menu type of thing stemming from the track).

For future people looking at this interested in using audiobook builder for their dj mixes or music podcasts. I split the entire mix into separate tracks (Audacity which is freeware allows you to import an entire mix and put track markers where you can name the track, then when you export the file it automatically splits the entire file based on those markers).

When I had my split tracks I imported them all into Audiobook builder and made sure each one was it's own chapter with the correct name (mine were all good and in the right order). Next i went to finish and in the options i chose music AAC and chose 320kbps (considering it's a DJ mix you want decent quality) I then selected "break between chapters".

Once this is completed the file should work in iTunes and your various ipods and iphones/ipads as one single music song with various markers to which you can skip through.

cheers!

It's great to hear that you got most everything sorted out on your own.

In iTunes, Chapters can also be accessed from a menu that appears after the Audiobook is being played. That Chapters menu shows up sandwiched between the Window and Help menus at the top of the screen and once clicked upon displays a list of the actual Chapter names for easy navigation.
