Brilliant - never a problem but lately...
Today was amalgamating books that consisted of several short m4b files (3-6hrs) into larger 12- 15 hr files simply to reduce the length of the list in iTunes.
A couple of hours later - done perhaps half a dozen - getting so slow that "Adding files" is taking up to 20 minutes : update - now 40!).
I drag them from the iTunes window into ABB. 69mb + 102mb adding into one file. Originals done with ABB too. Only done about 5% and the little bar is hardly moving.

This a problem with ABB - in that it needs a rest very hour or so, or some bigger problem with my iMac (loads of spare memory and hard disk space, only iTunes and Chrome running. Activity Monitor shows very little going on so can't imagine the problem.

In fact after an hour I just quit ABB and restarted and it's back to normal. So it is an ABB problem, guys.

Hello!

What version are of Audiobook Builder are you using? 1.2.5 just introduced some optimization on retrieving files from iTunes that should help. If you are running 1.2.5, it may be related to the recent optimizations. Are you also reusing the same project file over and over to build different Audiobooks?

If so, you may try saving the project in between builds when you have emptied all of your audio out of the project to start another book. This will clean out all of the recently removed files and permanently remove those files that you have removed from the chapters tab.

Let us know if you have anymore details on your methods or the slowdown. Thanks for the help!
