I just completed my first Audiobook Builder project. However, I'm a little confused about how it's output appears in iTunes. I was under the assumption that each AB "chapter" would appear as it's own chapter within the Audiobook, not as it's own track. When I play the audiobook, the iTunes chapter control menu does nothing since each iTunes track (which is an Audiobook Builder chapter) contains only the one chapter.

Does this make sense? That's not typically how Audiobook chapters are defined. Usually you would play the file and when you click on the Chapter Menu at the top of iTunes you get a pull-down menu of all of the chapters. However, Audiobook Builder doesn't do this since it really creates multiple files/tracks not multiple "chapters" within 1 file.

Not sure if this makes sense or not, but this isn't quite what I would expect from a program designed to create chapters within Audiobooks.

Maybe I've set up something wrong within Audiobook Builder. If so, please point me in the right direction.

I'm using Snow Leopard 10.6.4, iTunes 9.2, and the latest Audiobook Builder.

By the way, here are my settings:

Build Options:
Quality-Normal
Format-M4B (bookmarkable)
Part Style-Per chapter

Should I have had the Part Style as "Break between chapters"? I don't think this is what I wanted, because this seems to ask you to set a specific length for the section instead of having the length determined by the actual chapter size. The difference between these options weren't very clear.

Did a little testing and I guess it WAS the break at chapters instead of 1 part/chapter.

It should probably be a little more clear on the difference between them.

'Break Between Chapters' allows Audiobook Builder to create parts wherever there is a chapter break to get a size that is near your target part length. If you go to the bottom of the list under the line, there is 'Per Chapter'. This creates a Part for every Chapter you have in your audiobook. We added this later by request.

You can get a preview of how many parts your book will be by looking at the finish tab summary. It will show your book's total length, number of chapters as well as how many parts it will end up being.
