If you right click (or hold the control key and left click) on the link you should see a 'Download linked file' option while using Safari. This will allow you to save the file to your Mac. I have also seen at least some of the books include a zip file at the very bottom of the list that contained all of the mp3 files of a book. It may be quicker to use that link instead if it exists for the book you want to listen to. I hope this helps!
