Post subject:  Since v 1.1.3 the ID3 Tag is used instead of filename - WHY?

Hi,
I have my renamed mp3-files (Parts from audiobooks); the filenames are renamed (using renamer for Mac) to Chapter 1.mp3, Chapter 2.mp3 and so on. The ID3-Tag is untouched as I got the files from CD or Internet.

When I used ABB 1.1.2 and imported that files, there has every chapter in the audiobook the same name as the filename was.

Since ABB 1.1.3 I have after importing the files only the ID3-Tagnames as chapternames.

Changing all ID3 Tag is not so easy and comfortable possible as simply filename change.

Is it possible to fix that problem in next version of ABB?
Or would it be possible to make a selection which name the user wants as name of the chapter (whether the FILENAME of the ID3 TAG) ?
Or is it just an issue in ABB 1.1.3 ?
Or want everybody only use the ID3 TAG as chaptername?

Please help me with that

happy New Year

Hello,

I ran into the same problem.

Best solution for me would be the possibility to have the choice of using tags or file names.

I hope to see this in the next update.

Thank you and best wishes

Thomas

I would like to add a third for this. I used to use NameChanger, (http://web.mac.com/mickeyroberson/MRR_Software/NameChanger.html),to batch change the file names before importing into Audiobook Builder. Now I have to change the names one at a time in Audiobook Builder. What a pain. I want my old version back.

We made the change because we got many requests/complaints of Audiobook Builder using the filename instead of the tags. It is true that you can't please all the of the people all of the time

We have added the preference to either choose to use the file name or the tag name in the latest beta build of Audiobook Builder. Thank you for letting us know!
