Facts
Who Is Splasm Software?
Splasm Software began in 1999 as a partnership between Keith Gugliotto and Randy Knoble. They planned to develop entertaining titles for the Macintosh but shifted gears in 2002 to focus on productivity software. The partnership incorporated in 2005.
What Does Splasm Software Do?

We develop our products and ourselves organically - constantly growing and improving. Our ears are open to user feedback, our minds are tightly focused on quality and our hearts are committed to supporting our family of users at any cost.

- Audiobook Builder, the easy way to create iPod-friendly Audiobooks
- ViddyUp!, the iPod & Apple TV video wrangler with some sweet extras
- Brightness Control, a screen dimmer
- Dasher, a utility to activate Dashboard when the Mac is idle
Where is Splasm Software Located?
Splasm is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama.
Where is Splasm Software Going?
Splasm intends to enhance its three core products: CheckBook, Audiobook Builder and ViddyUp!, while exploring new opportunities on both the Mac OS X and iPhone OS platforms.
Why the name “Splasm”?
Software is so full of potential. It's a blast to let it grow, organically, above and so far beyond the original vision of its creators. We threw around words like adaptive, organic, primitive, protoplasm - and many more - until splasm popped into mind. It sounded fun and just felt right. It's gooey, primordial, without form - but it's full of infinite, mind-blowing possibilities. Now it's on the move and it won't stop until it's reached your wildest expectations multiplied by maximum potential. And that's us. |

Audiobook Builder
Easy Listening
Description
Audiobook Builder is the easy way to convert your Audiobook collection into iTunes and iPod-friendly Audiobooks.
Features
- Audio File Joining: If you've already ripped your CDs there's no need to suffer through it again. Audiobook Builder can usually bring your files together without a loss in quality.
- Enhanced Chapter Stops: By default, every CD you import becomes its own "chapter" in your Audiobook project. When you play the final output in iTunes or on your iPod, you'll notice special controls for quickly moving between these chapters instead of fast-forwarding or rewinding. And, you can accessorize each chapter with its own artwork - which makes listening on your iPod a bit more interesting.
- Adjustable Quality Settings: Audiobook Builder comes with a few presets to get you started, but you're welcome to customize your audio settings to suit your personal taste.
- iTunes Integration: Audiobook Builder can easily add the current selection in iTunes to your projects, and it also automatically sends its output directly to a special playlist in iTunes.
- Quite a Memory: Each Audiobook Builder project is self-contained in its own document, so you are free to start a project now, move on to another application or an evening in the Real World, then come back and finish your project later. You can even move projects between Macs, if necessary.
